RS4 and RS5: hypothesis

Many have followed news about the B8 RS4, often contradictory. It seems that the model is not expected, by skipping a generation as it has in the B6 A4.
What's true? The truth is that we do not know. A very important role is played by the RS5, which could be sufficient to meet the demand for this segment. In addition, we have not seen a forklift to RS4, let alone have a formal statement, and this only serves to feed the doubts.
RS4's fate, then, is crossed with the RS5. Until recently there was talk of only a RS4 Avant as not to disturb the coupe. Same thing is done now to RS6 and RS7.
Here you connect the assumptions Fourtitude: A4 and A5 will undergo a general renovation in 2013 (the date is uncertain), and this renewal will be very extensive, especially for A5: think of the transition from B6 to B7, so denote these new models such as B9.
In this light, this change could also include the transition from 4.2 to 4.0 naturally aspirated V8 TFSI. This engine will need an incredible number of high-end models: S6, RS6, S7, RS7, A8, S8. Why could not take place under the hood of the RS4 and RS5? Remember that the 4.0 TFSI is also intended to replace the 4.2 in its less powerful, and could even find R8 place in the next generation.
Rightly, the RS5 has just been presented, now speak of the new engine might seem premature. But if you consider 2013 as the date of arrival of the B9 models, the RS version would arrive any earlier than one year later, in 2014. So with the times we are.
Another fact in support of this thesis is the delay of RS5 in the U.S. market. Could justify a change so important, as making the car homologated in the U.S. is not exactly cheap, especially for niche models like these.
In conclusion, the best hypothesis sees the RS4 only for the next generation and skip the current B8. We do not, however, some data, so expect the next move of Audi.
